Fantastic Friday: Child Prodigies Edition

I always envisioned myself a child prodigy.  Alas, they don’t give kiddie sized Macarthur Genius Grants for NBA JAM skills, nor for figuring out how to get your best friend in trouble at school while somehow also avoiding the teacher’s wrath.

With that said, while the rest of the US was celebrating or bemoaning the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the constitutionality of Obamacare, one of the real child prodigies out there, Jack Andraka, was discovering “a new method of detecting pancreatic cancer that’s 28 times faster, 28 times less expensive, and over 100 times more sensitive than current tests.”  Now that’s innovation and bending the cost curve…

And he’s only one of many inspiring children that are doing really exceptional things that most of us couldn’t ever dream of.  These child prodigies include a 5 year old professional painter, a 17 year old physicist who’s already built a nuclear reactor, and a boy who performed surgery at the old age of 7.

Take a look at the stories of all of these slackers here.  Do it!

Have a Fantastic Friday everyone!
